About the Role

Brooks School seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and confident Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role supports the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes, working closely with the Head Certified Athletic Trainer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency acute care, evaluation, referral, and modality application for athletic injuries.
  • Participate in a wellness-centered approach to injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Refer injuries to appropriate medical facilities and maintain accurate documentation in collaboration with the Head Certified Athletic Trainer, school consulting physicians, and the Director of the Health Center.
  • Communicate with parents when appropriate.
  • Provide athletic training coverage at all home contests and travel with teams as necessary.
  • Promote safe practice and competition environments.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Schedule athletic contests, transportation, and officials under the guidance of the Director of Athletics.
  • Assist the Director of Athletics and Head Athletic Trainer with additional responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in athletic training or comparable degree in a health-related field; M.S. preferred.
  • Current NATA BOC Certification and Massachusetts State Licensure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to navigate a large campus and various athletic venues.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.
  • Frequent talking, listening, walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Travel

This role requires frequent travel to attend athletic contests.
