About the role

As a Certification Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support in the evaluation and testing of existing and emerging technologies, systems, and capabilities. You’ll be responsible for testing and certifying electrical equipment to support FAA TSO, STC and PMA activities and manage the entire testing process from project start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical data and forms to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Provide top-notch customer service
  • Author certification test plans, test reports and various other project documentation
  • Execute test plans/programs to verify compliance to regulatory and quality requirements
  • Cook up activities with external test labs/resources
  • Aid in prototype build and evaluation
  • Design, build, and specify equipment necessary for testing products
  • Evaluate new technology components and designs to improve certification testing
  • Support production testing as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and certifying electrical equipment
  • Direct experience with industry, regulatory, and/or military standards/specifications
  • Experience with Oscilloscopes, DVMs, data acquisition, and other electrical test equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organized, focused, and results-oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (not required)
  • Familiarity/experience with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-311A, MIL-STD-810G/MIL-STD-461F and FAA TSO (not required)
