CEO of banking platform Tuum Sergey Anikin left the company

Angel investor and former Skype, Microsoft, and Pipedrive employee Sergei Anikin has left the banking platform Tuum. Myles Bertrand, previously Chief Revenue Officer of payments platform DT One, is the new CEO. Bertrand will focus on expanding Tuum’s client base, product offering, team, and international footprint to establish the company as a global market leader.

About Tuum

Tuum is a cloud API-based core banking platform founded in Tallinn in 2019 by Jan Lakspere, Ove Kreison, Rivo Uibo, and Vilve Vene. The platform enables financial service providers—such as banks or fintech startups—to rapidly introduce new lending products, payment facilities, or banking cores, as well as facilitate legacy migrations. Tuum operates offices in Tallinn, Berlin, and Málaga.

Background

Sergei Anikin served as Tuum’s CEO from June 2022 until his recent departure. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board at Estonian company Katana, a provider of manufacturing and inventory software for businesses, where he has worked since 2021. Prior to Tuum, Anikin was Vice President of Engineering at Pipedrive (2013–2018) and later CTO (2018–2022). His earlier career includes roles as Engineering Manager at Skype and Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft.

Upon Anikin’s appointment as Tuum CEO in 2022, then-CEO Vilve Vene stated she could think of no one else she would trust to lead Tuum. Anikin reflected that he found fulfillment in supporting the company during a challenging period and recognized when it was time to step aside. Regarding his future plans, he has not yet announced specific next steps.
