Centralized Intake and Emergency Services Family Services Worker - Interim
About the Role
DCF Family Services is recruiting for an Interim Family Services Worker position at the Central Intake & Emergency Services Unit (CIES). CIES is a statewide child protection hotline that operates twenty-four hours a day, every day of the week, including holidays. The unit serves as the child abuse reporting system for the State of Vermont and handles after-hour emergencies related to child abuse and neglect, children in the state's custody, delinquency, and youth with behaviors beyond the control of their caretakers, including coordination of HESOC work.
Duties are performed in an office setting with minimal travel required. Incumbents must have a private means of transportation to the office. CIES is an essential service that functions twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Incumbents predictably encounter high levels of stress, strong differences of opinion, and potentially exposure to threats of harm. Class incumbents may be required to be on standby status to answer the hotline during night, weekend, and holiday hours.
