Family Services Worker (Statewide Continuous Recruitment)
About the role
The Department for Children & Families' Family Services Division seeks compassionate and dedicated Family Services Workers to support the welfare of children, families, and communities. The role involves conducting assessments related to child abuse and neglect or delinquency, supporting at-risk families, children in foster and kinship care, and youth under juvenile probation. Collaboration with various stakeholders is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing FSWs: Manage caseloads, maintain contacts, monitor safety, ensure compliance, develop and implement case plans, coordinate services, facilitate family team meetings, and revise safety plans.
- Intake/Assessment FSWs: Initiate accepted intakes through assessments or investigations, conduct safety and risk assessments, develop and implement immediate safety plans, arrange emergency placements, connect families to services, and document findings.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work.
- Bachelor's degree AND 18 months of human services casework, including at least six months with a child or youth services caseload.
- Associate's degree in a human services related field AND 2 years or more of experience in human services work.
- Four (4) years or more of experience in human services work.

Pay
Total compensation includes an outstanding set of employee benefits worth about 30% of your total compensation.
Schedule
Incumbents may be required to be on available or standby status during night, weekend, and holiday hours. Duties are performed in a variety of settings, including departmental offices, client homes, courtrooms, or alternative staffing sites. Considerable field travel is required, for which private means of transportation must be available. Crisis situations may arise at any hour and may require evening or weekend responses.
