Job Summary

Manages the daily operations and activities of the Central Sterile Department. Responsible for the management of the department’s daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by Director.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, preparation and oversight of staff schedules
  • Providing input into employee decisions related to hiring, performance assessment and disciplinary actions
  • Develops collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff, both internal and external to the department
  • Oversees and guides the staff to ensure the Department meets JCAHO and Regulatory standards and complies with corporate policy and procedures
  • Manages supplies and equipment in the department
  • Promotes teamwork with physicians and all health care providers
  • Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Manages appropriate resource management

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate / GED (CRCST)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
  • No Travel Required
  • Min 3 years experience

These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
