Central Sterile Educator/UKHC

About the role

The Educator for sterile processing and high-level disinfection is responsible for advancing excellence in education, competency management and standardized practice across sterile processing, high-level disinfection and related perioperative services. The role ensures staff competency, regulatory compliance, standardization of practices and continuous quality improvement in alignment with accreditation and professional standards.

Requirements

• Education: BS
• Related Experience: 3 years
• License/Registration/Certification: CNOR – Certified Nurse Operating Room; CST – Certified Surgical Technologist; CRCST – Certified Registered Central Service Technician; or CIC – Certified in Infection Control (required at time of hire)
• Physical Requirements: sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods; regularly lifting and transporting objects up to 25 lbs; repetitive motion

Qualifications

Preferred Education/Experience: Healthcare, Education, Nursing, Public Health or related field. At least 3 years of related work experience are required for this position.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Microsoft office (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint), presentation skills, oral and written communication skills.

Pay

Salary Range: $21.00-34.29/hour

Schedule

Shift: 7a‑3:30p Monday through Friday; may require occasional weekends and nights to cover educational needs of the department.
