Central Service Tech - Full Time - Days

Under direct supervision of the Senior Technician or Department Manager of Sterile Processing, carries out the operations of sterile processing and will be proficient with all assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Carries out Standard Precautions at all times.
• Performs all phases of decontamination: instruments, carts and equipment (commodes, Imeds, Isolation Carts, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.).
• Operates the washer-decontaminator, cart wash and the steam gun.
• Performs all phases of inspecting and assembling instruments for the OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, Sleep lab and all off-sites.
• Operates the sterilizers in the department (STEAM, ETO, and STERRAD).
• Adheres to the proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on the appropriate log sheets.
• Maintains accurate logs on all sterilizers.
• Operates heat sealer, labeling gun and drying cabinet.
• Accurately documents results.
• Adheres to the proper delinting, folding and assembling of reusable linen.
• Restock hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year previous related experience.
• CS Tech Certification.

Pay

$18 - $23 per hour

Schedule

• Variable shift.
• 7.5 hours worked per shift.
• 0.94 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent).
• CWA-UFCSM - 8 HR work schedule.
• Full-Time employee status.
• Union: 2005 - CWA.
