About the Role

This role provides patient supervision, care, and activities services in accordance with professional staff direction and unit procedures, assisting patients in activities of daily living, implementing treatment plans, and providing supportive contact with patients. Responsibilities

• Supervises clients during transportation, ensuring constant safety and secure hand-off to receiving facilities.
• Completes travel logs thoroughly for each trip, keeps vehicles clean and fueled, and submits gas receipts according to procedure.
• Reports vehicle problems to the Maintenance Department immediately.
• When not transporting, supervises clients on special observation/precautionary status levels and monitors other clients in accordance with program procedures.
• Assists clients with activities of daily living (eating, personal hygiene, ambulating, etc.).
• Assists with inventory of client belongings and monitors compliance with contraband prohibition.
• Communicates important client information to nursing and counselors, including concerns, complaints, changes in functioning, and potential emergencies.
• Monitors and ensures unit/facility cleanliness, order, safety, and security throughout the shift.
• Assists in placing clients into seclusion as directed by a nurse and documents client behavior monitoring.
• Initiates and responds to "code green" as needed, participates in shift reports, and completes inter-shift checklists.
• Attends staff meetings and clears departure with the unit supervisor to ensure shift coverage and continuity.
• May be required to remain on duty beyond scheduled shifts to maintain safe staffing levels.
