About the role

The University of South Alabama’s Facilities Inventory Warehouse is seeking to hire a Central Receiving Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Central Receiving processes including taking possession of deliveries, ensuring timely delivery to departments, verifying item accuracy, classifying new inventory, initiating/coordinating with Moving Services for deliveries, scheduling Work Orders for Moving Services, receiving items for stock room inventory, reconciling inventory balances, purchasing materials for departments, and monitoring rental areas.
  • Serves as backup for scheduling Work Orders for Moving Services.
  • Works with Accountants to reconcile and resolve discrepancies with Inventory balance.
  • Works with the Inventory Control Coordinator to purchase materials for departments, contracts, and project work requests.
  • Maintains Stockroom in a clean and orderly manner, utilizes a forklift and pallet jack to move inventory, moves items weighing up to 50 lbs, assigns duties, cleans shelves, walls, and floors, and follows safety guidelines.
  • Participates in the maintenance and/or implementation of all software, issues inventory items, interacts with vendors and departments, performs inventory counts, and maintains a professional business outlook.
  • Maintains a professional business outlook and represents the University’s core values at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, four years of directly related experience in materials management, receiving, purchasing, and/or inventory control.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and maintaining a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in materials management of maintenance and building repair supplies is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Regular and prompt attendance, ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.

Skills

Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack, ability to perform tasks requiring physical effort such as moving items weighing up to 50 lbs, ability to interact with vendors and departments via phone, email, and in person, ability to perform inventory counts, and ability to maintain a professional business outlook.
