About the role

The position is responsible for receiving and distributing food/beverage products and equipment, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, and assisting with the setup and service of catered events. It requires flexibility in scheduling and adherence to state health codes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily instruction, training, and leadership to the storeroom student staff.
  • Maintains work areas that are fully stocked, organized, clean, safe, and functional at all times.
  • Delivers orders and supplies to campus offices and Hospitality locations promptly and efficiently.
  • Fills out the temperature log book charts.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and fully functional work area that is adequately stocked, properly rotated, and organized at all times.
  • Serves guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner when required.
  • Accurately completes transfers and inventory data for the FoodPro system as needed.
  • Notifies Chefs and/or managers with any discrepancies in the daily flow of transfers.
  • Operates vehicles and receiving equipment according to standard policy and procedure.
  • Reports any issues related to vehicles or receiving equipment to management promptly.
  • Implements effective food waste management practices, including FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory control.
  • Adheres to all state and local food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or requested to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Up to two years related work experience is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 with assistance.
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certification or training is required. If training is not up-to-date, training/certification must be completed upon 3-6 months from date of hire.
  • Food allergy training is essential and prior experience in special food allergy meal preparation is preferred. If a candidate does not have prior experience, the necessary training must be completed upon hiring.
  • Excellent customer service and appropriate communication skills are needed in order to provide a welcoming, professional and safe environment for students and guests.
  • Class D and DOT License are required.
