Central Park Place Event Support - Internal Candidates Only
About the Role
This internal opportunity is responsible for setting up, preparing, and tearing down event spaces for various functions, including meetings, conferences, and special events. The role ensures efficient and effective room turnaround and works closely with Event Coordinators and other CPP team members.
Responsibilities
- Arrange tables, chairs, and other furniture according to event specifications.
- Set up audio-visual equipment and other necessary materials.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of event spaces before and after each event.
- Maintain an inventory of event supplies and equipment.
- Report any damages or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
Requirements
- Must be a current employee of the City of Grand Haven.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt to priority changes in workflow and requirements.
- Working knowledge of safety and health department standards.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment include setting up for events both inside and outside of a facility. The role may involve:
- Exposure to harsh or hazardous weather conditions.
- Exposure to bodily fluids, disease agents, and bloodborne pathogens.
- Use of visual and/or audio logical appliances and devices to increase mobility, if needed.
Schedule
This is an on-call/as-needed opportunity with no guaranteed hours. Shifts are offered based on availability and must not interfere with your regular duties or pose a conflict of interest with your primary role at the City of Grand Haven.
Pay
Compensation for this role is based on the rate of pay for the CPP support role. Overtime, if applicable under Michigan payroll regulations, will be calculated using a weighted average between your regular rate of pay and the CPP support role rate.
