Central Maintenance Technician

Duties

• Performing technical duties in the maintenance and repair of a water or wastewater treatment plant.
• Assisting in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment; performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of maintenance records.
• Assisting in the modification and installation of equipment and parts.
• Monitoring plant observations and reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Operating a filter press.
• Operating a front-end loader and other equipment as needed.
• Cutting grass and maintaining plant grounds.
• Assisting in the rebuilding of system books.
• Cleaning and maintaining plant tanks.

Requirements

• Knowledge of treatment plant processes and procedures, city and department policies and procedures, work safety principles and practices, data acquisition and records preparation principles.
• Skills in the operation and maintenance of job-related tools and equipment, inspection of plant processes and the recording of related data, operation of assigned vehicles, oral and written communication.
• At least one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must satisfactorily complete a background check, drug test and pre-employment physical.

Salary

$17.08/hour
