Key job responsibilities
- Deliver load planning guidance for complex, multi-flight operations while communicating container inventory, special loads, DG, and aircraft-specific instructions to gateways and stakeholders.
- Utilize advanced technical knowledge and judgement of load planning to navigate complex and ambiguous operational scenarios.
- Communicate, provide direction and guidance to Gateway Operations Leaders to ensure aircraft load accuracy in accordance with the load plan.
- Provide mentorship to gateway operations as needed.
- Ensure creation/distribution of weight and balance calculations to flight crew members, be able to navigate complex scenarios with partner carrier flight operations/leadership.
- Utilize Amazon Air systems for overseeing load planning operations per assignment and provide operational improvements/designs to support teams.
- Provide operational SME expertise to local gateways, NCC operations and carrier partners.
- Ensure accurate production of assigned load plan and manages workload to include review of planned payload, required weights, fuel, ULD types, loading needs of assigned location.
Basic Qualifications
- Driver's license
- 3+ years of experience in one of the following: Aircraft Load Planning, Weight and Balance Operations, Aviation/Cargo Operations Management, Transportation Operations Management, and/or Network Control Center Operations Management
- Must fulfill FAA and DHS criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA) and be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges
- Ability to pass all required qualification courses and ongoing currency training requirements.
- Ability to work a rotating, flexible work schedule, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
- English literacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years experience in Weight and Balance systems, MS Office Suite, and general computer applications
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with Amazon Air load planning and ramp operations or equivalent air cargo experience
