Central Fill - Technician - Full Time - AM Shift

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for working in a closed-door, fast-paced pharmacy facility on a production line, filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The role involves using prescription filling automation technologies and semi-manual/manual workstations to ensure accuracy and maintain workflow. The position is based in Ridgefield, WA.

Schedule

The shift arrangement is typically a 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime. Shifts are either 1st shift (6:30 AM to 3:00 PM) or 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM).

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, general safety, and security procedures and processes of the company.
• Use scanning and counting technologies to identify and select appropriate pharmaceutical products and quantities for filling prescription orders.
• Ensure medication counting devices are continuously replenished.
• Assist with maintaining the pharmacy system and technologies that facilitate proper counting, conveyance, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions.
• Monitor inventory and supply levels at responsible stations, calibrate machines, and perform general troubleshooting (jams, blockages) within conveyance, counting, and packaging machines.
• Escalate technical issues and work as a team to reach goals.
• Monitor and maintain uptime of automated counting, collating, packaging, and sorting devices through basic troubleshooting of routine errors.
• Create and maintain documentation as requested.
• Manually fill prescriptions as needed.
• Verify product attributes such as size, strength, and quantity before processing orders.
• Enter or scan expiration date and lot numbers.
• Ensure labels on prescriptions are correct.
• Prepare packages, sort, and manifest prescription orders if needed.
• Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies to limit shrinkage if needed.
• Assist Inventory Technicians as requested.
• Participate in Inventory Audits as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Pharmacy Technician License in Washington.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.
• Preferred:
  • A national Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Preference to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, or phone work).
  • Good computer and math skills.

Skills

• Technical experience with pharmacy automation technologies.
• Basic troubleshooting of routine errors in automated systems.

Physical Requirements

• Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to perform tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Consistent visual focus such as counting and observing is required.
• Performing repetitive tasks up to 100% of the time.
