Central Fill Clerk

About the role

We are looking for an associate who values respect, teamwork, and growth to join our central-fill pharmacy team. The role focuses on preparing and packaging prescription medications with precision, supporting inventory management, and maintaining a safe, efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package fulfilled prescription medications for final distribution to local pharmacies or directly to patients, ensuring accuracy by following system processes and procedures.
• Organize printed prescription information by patient during packaging to safeguard protected HIPAA information.
• Ensure printed prescription information matches prepared prescription bottles prior to bagging.
• Sort, pack, and process prescription totes for shipment back to local stores.
• Assist in packaging and generating shipping labels for mail order and specialty medications.
• Support inventory management by unpacking, sorting, and shelving medication orders, and completing cycle counts as needed, ensuring proper stock rotation (first-in, first-out).
• Operate and maintain the central fill dispensing system and automation to meet daily production goals while prioritizing quality and safety.
• Maintain working knowledge of systems and equipment used for packaging, shipping, and inventory management.
• Provide operational support to pharmacists on duty and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform repetitive tasks with acute attention to detail and absolute accuracy.
• Immediately report any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures related to central fill and pharmacy operations.
• Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (completed or in progress).
• Valid driver’s license for business travel purposes.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
