Job Responsibilities
- Embalsms and prepares bodies, performs crematory responsibilities, cleans soiled equipment, handles hazardous material spills, and maintains a clean, stocked, and compliant preparation room.
- Inventories and orders supplies, requests equipment maintenance and repair, and escalates equipment replacement to management.
- Inspects deceased at various preparation stages, collaborates on training needs, develops job aids and procedure checklists, executes and participates in training activities, trains team on safe working environment and procedures, and re-trains staff to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversees day-to-day Care Center operations, develops work schedules, delegates assignments, communicates priorities and expectations, ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, and coordinates staff work and time-off schedules.
- Develops and implements training programs, monitors training and licensing requirements, and recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements.
Requirements
- Holds and maintains any State specific licensing and/or certifications.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- At least five (5) years of funeral home, care center and/or decedent care preparation experience.
- Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office products.
- Manual dexterity required for physical effort.
Education/Experience/Minimum
- State specific required diploma or accreditations.
- At least five (5) years of funeral home, care center and/or decedent care preparation experience.
