About the Role

The Center Store Manager ensures customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective day-to-day management of the operations and merchandising functions for the Center Store Department. This position oversees Center Store product and conditions to optimize sales, profits, and customer satisfaction, including back room, shelving, inventory, schematics, and pricing. The role provides leadership and direction to Center Store associates, trains and develops them for career advancement, and manages department performance to optimize store success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and merchandising for the Center Store Department.
• Manage product conditions, inventory, schematics, and pricing to optimize sales and customer satisfaction.
• Lead and develop Center Store associates, fostering a culture aligned with the company’s mission.
• Train associates to enable their success and career advancement.
• Manage department performance and productivity to enhance store performance.
• Ensure compliance with store hazardous materials, food safety rules, and union contractual agreements.
• Apply knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and center store equipment.

Requirements

• Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience).
• Completion of Assistant Center Store Manager rotation or two years of equivalent management experience or current role as Bakery, Meat, or Produce Department Manager.
• Availability to work a variety of required retail hours.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to stand and move frequently; lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

Hiring pay range: $33.41 - $35.08 per hour.
