About the Role

Join Best Friends Pet Care, the go-to destination for pet care with over 80 locations across twenty-six states and 30 years in business. We are searching for a passionate, hands-on Center Manager to lead a team dedicated to creating a second home for beloved pets, delivering unforgettable experiences for pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Be the trusted leader for pets and their owners, ensuring pets feel safe, cared for, and loved at every moment.
  • Oversee daily care routines including feeding, medicating, grooming, exercise, and playtime (must be able to lift large dogs).
  • Keep meticulous records to monitor each pet’s health and behavior.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a best-in-class boarding facility.
  • Handle emergencies in collaboration with your District Manager.
  • Ensure the facility meets or exceeds Best Friends Pet Care standards and stays ahead of regulations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of 10+ animal care professionals in a positive work culture.
  • Serve as a liaison between frontline team members and headquarters, facilitating clear communication.
  • Build schedules that balance excellence in pet care with budget efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional service to build lasting client relationships and foster loyalty.
  • Encourage feedback and champion ways to elevate the client experience.
  • Manage payroll, budgets, and financial reporting with support from your District Manager and administrative team.
  • Oversee inventory and coordinate purchasing to ensure supplies are always stocked.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to elevate community outreach and boost visibility.
  • Multitask and solve problems in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of management experience overseeing a team of 10+ employees (required).
  • Hands-on animal care experience and a deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and welfare practices.
  • Proactive, organized, and adaptable mindset for a bustling environment.
  • Stellar communication skills and a proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead.
  • Financial management expertise, including payroll, budgets, and expense control.
  • Desire to continue education and training with a dynamic pet care organization.
