Center Duty Officer

Wage: $70,304 annually. Rotating schedule – full time, 8-hour shifts, days vary.

Responsibilities

• Act as center director in their absence during evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Provide support to staff in resolving negative student behavior
• Monitor and maintain effective control through personal observations by making periodic checks of center-wide activities, facilities, dormitories, and cafeteria; report potential or existing unresolved problems to the center director
• Confer with parents, center personnel, and counsel students concerning problems related to student actions on and off center
• Consult and collaborate with parents, center personnel (including Security, Residential Living, and the Safety Officer) to counsel students on problems related to their actions both on and off the center
• Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment
• Make decisions in emergency situations that disrupt the orderly operation of the center

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements
• Experience with youth
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
