Job Summary
This role meticulously orchestrates and oversees the entirety of daily center operations, ensuring adept management of personnel, vigilant product oversight, smooth coordination of donor flow, and seamless functionality of critical resources.
Oversees Operations
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP)
- Ensures certifications/licenses are current
- Leads corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address issues
- Hosts audits by regulatory agencies and customers
- Supports quality improvement initiatives
- Contributes to best practices
Ensures Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance
- Promotes and enforces Safety, Health, and Environmental policies
- Solves safety concerns
- Maintains preventive maintenance of donor center equipment
- Maintains a clean, safe facility
Manages Donor Center Functions and Assets
- Maintains donor center functions and assets
- Informs leadership of irregularities
- Mitigates/report unsafe conditions
Inventory and Procurement Management
- Maintains product inventory and storage integrity
- Manages unsuitable product
- Partners with corporate/vendors for efficient shipments and procurement
Operational Excellence
- Achieves targeted production in quantity/quality while optimizing costs, inventory, and purchase order submissions
- Directs all employee training, onboarding, retraining, and leadership development
- Tracks and audits training data and certifications
- Collaborates with Quality and Field teams to address deviations, audits, and corrective actions
People Management
- Conducts performance evaluations, development plans, corrective actions, and employment decisions (hiring, promotions, terminations)
- Ensures adherence to HR policies and procedures
- Assists with investigations
- Fosters a positive culture through mentorship and role modeling of core values
Center Marketing and Advertising
- Leads center marketing and advertising initiatives
- Collaborates with corporate departments to strengthen outreach and enhance operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to use a computer, video display terminal, and other office equipment for extended periods
- Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as necessary
- Ability to focus and concentrate on tasks for extended periods
- Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable)
- Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane and vehicle (if applicable)
- Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
- Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -40°C for short periods of time
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and periodically after hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three (3) years of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience preferred
- Three (3) years of people management, including recruiting and training (may be concurrent with operations/process management)
- Knowledge of financial management and/or budgeting preferred
