Cell Tower Technician - Apprentice

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Basic understanding of project documents and JHA paperwork
• Ability to read and understand rigging plans
• Basic understanding of RF and Steel installation/modification
• Perform various rigging tasks as directed
• Ability to perform compliant climbing techniques
• Ability to perform truck and trailer maneuvers
• Other duties as assigned (duties may change at any time with or without notice)

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Observe all company procedures and safety rules
• 6 months–1 year's experience in cellular construction and/or training
• Excellent physical conditioning and stamina
• Effective communication skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and varying temperatures
• Ability to work as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Willingness to travel (hotels and per diem provided)
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy
• Basic computer skills required

Preferred qualifications:

• Sweep & PIM testing & fiber testing experience
• Competent Tower Climber and Rescuer Certification
• First Aid & CPR certification

• Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk, or hear
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently required to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 or 100 lbs.
• Able to climb to and work at heights exceeding 300 feet
• Good vision for close work, distance, color discrimination, peripheral, and depth perception
