About the role
The Cell Coordinator manages the daily activities of staff within one or more cells, stepping in at different stations as needed. This role ensures that safety, quality, and productivity goals are met while enforcing all policies and procedures related to the assigned cells.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of personnel in one or multiple cells.
- Work any station within the cells as needed.
- Assist the Team Lead/Supervisor by being a role model to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets are achieved and improved.
- Support and actively participate in the 6S program and safety efforts to create a safer work environment and meet plant and cell/line targets.
- Support and actively participate in quality efforts; report any quality issues immediately to the team lead and routinely inspect operators' work.
- Read and understand all policies, procedures, work instructions, and test instructions associated with the assigned cells/lines; ensure compliance with work instructions.
- Ensure scrap materials and rework labor in the department are accurately documented (NCPO) daily.
- Utilize BOMs and routings, and report any discrepancies found in the documents.
- Report issues that may jeopardize on-time delivery and performance to standard lead time to the team lead.
- Ensure efficiency targets and results are understood by all operators in the cells/lines.
- Keep 3-sided boards and hourly boards up to date.
- Periodically fill in for the Team Lead or Supervisor in their absence.
Requirements
- Must be considered an A player with a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to perform basic math, including the use of calculators.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Experience with computers or the ability to learn basic usage of Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing documentation such as prints, BOMs, routings, and work instructions with minimal assistance.
