Cell Biologist II

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain mammalian cell culture lines, clone selections, transfections
• Create cell line banks
• Prepare media and other cell culture reagents
• Perform strong aseptic techniques
• Exposure to operating and programming laboratory automation and liquid handling
• Update and maintain biological inventories
• Perform experiment documentation (ELNs)
• Perform bioassays, biochemical assays, PBMC isolation
• Data analysis, presentation of data
• Afford assistance in any troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
• Interact professionally with both internal and external clients
• Meetings regularly with the scientist in charge to discuss progress, upcoming work changes, and any new items
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts
• Remain flexible to ever-changing needs in a positive and professional manner
• Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures
• Comply with clients and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies
• Follows the guidelines set forth by clients and the Company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan
• Adhere to the requirements of the Company Quality System
• Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload

Skills & Proficiencies

• Mammalian cell culture experience
• Biochemical and cell-based assays
• Strong interpersonal skills – written and oral communication, relationship building, being approachable, demonstrate initiative, adaptable, and project a positive attitude
• Excellent foundation in technical problem solving to assist in trouble shooting, samples management, shipping, ordering, equipment or logistical issues
• Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines
• Individual and Team work ethic
• Proficiency with Windows, Word & Excel
• Attention to detail

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology or another related field
• 1+ years working in a research laboratory
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above
