Responsibilities
- Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
- Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members
- Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures
- Reviewing programs for conformance with Department of Transportation standards
- Leading CEI project pursuits including assisting in marketing and business development efforts
- Managing and administering QA/QC program
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of the construction project to ensure compliance with FDOT specifications, including planning, coordination, and execution
- Conducting thorough inspection of construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, FDOT standards, and safety regulations
- Communicating directly with owner representatives and contractor to strategize complex operations and resolve contract challenges
- Evaluating project claims, delays, and coordinating timely resolution with client
- Developing cost estimates to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Civil Engineering degree and six (6) years of engineering experience, two (2) of which involve relevant transportation projects. Master’s degree in engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of engineering experience.
- Experience: Preference for experience with FDOT Policies and Procedures
- Communication: Strong command of English (verbally and in writing)
- Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida. Ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state
Qualifications / Certifications
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
- CTQP Quality Control Manager
Pay
Compensation Range: $162,010.86 - $185,155.27
