The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) has issued an alert regarding an uptick in fraudulent attempts to access Unemployment Insurance benefits. Fraudsters are targeting both existing claims and filing new fraudulent claims for individuals not already in the system.

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Email

  • If you are NOT a UI claimant:
    • Ignore the email requesting a password reset.
    • Fill out a fraud reporting form on the CDLE website.
    • If your employer notifies you that someone filed a claim on your behalf, have them fill out a fraud form as well.
  • If you ARE a current claimant:
    • Ignore the email and log in to your MyUI+ account via the official UI website.
    • Verify that your contact, banking, and payment information is correct.
    • If your information is correct, no further action is needed.
    • If your information has been altered, update it and reset your password.
    • If a payment was sent to an account that is not yours, fill out a fraud form.
    • If you cannot log in to your account, fill out a fraud report.

Note: Filing a fraud report may temporarily lock your account while CDLE investigates the issue.

InTANDEM HR will continue detecting and reporting fraudulent unemployment claims as they are received.
