DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
- Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of customer products and materials
- This position will be on-site, no miles driven – focus on trailer moves in the yard
- Perform required before, during and after operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Operate material handling equipment
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
- Maintain a level of professionalism at all times
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Hazmat/tanker endorsement
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
- Ability to safely drive various vehicles
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Able to safely perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
- Able to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have at least 2 years recent driving experience with a Class A CDL
- Must have minimal infractions on a 3 year MVR report
- Must have a current Class A CDL and DOT card
- Must be able to pass a road test administered by the company
- Yard dog/tractor experience preferred
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
- One (1) year relevant experience
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Possess or have ability to become forklift certified
- Valid State CDL License
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.
REASONING ABILITY
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
