CDL Truck Driver-Local Runs - Hiring 2nd shift

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
  • Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of customer products and materials
  • Perform required before, during and after operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
  • Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
  • Maintain a level of professionalism at all times

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Hazmat/tanker endorsement
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
  • Ability to safely drive various vehicles
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to safely perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Able to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have at least 2 years recent driving experience with a Class A CDL
  • Must have minimal infractions on a 3 year MVR report
  • Must have a current Class A CDL and DOT card
  • Must be able to pass a road test administered by the company
  • Yard dog/tractor experience preferred

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • One (1) year relevant experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

  • Possess or have ability to become forklift certified
  • Valid State CDL License

Reasoning Ability

  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Physical Demands

  • Frequently sits, talks and hears
  • Constantly reaches with hands and arms
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and walking
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
  • Quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field
