CDL Rigger/Driver

Responsibilities

• Aids the crane operator in setting up the equipment.
• Aids the crane operator in maintaining the crane and accessory equipment.
• Understands and performs proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
• Utilizes proper hand signals during all crane operations.
• Secures equipment to the trailer before operating the truck.
• Inspects and fills out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle.
• Turns in inspection report to the proper supervisor.
• Reports mechanical defects in writing to the shop technician or supervisor.
• Maintains inventory of chains, boomer, and straps and reports missing equipment to the supervisor.
• Performs maintenance on chains, boomer, and straps and documents repairs to the supervisor.
• Cleans the outside and cab area of the assigned vehicle daily.
• Maintains annual State inspection and reports State license plate status to the supervisor.
• Reports to the dispatcher upon completion of the job task for the next assignment.
• Reviews and prepares for the next day's job assignment at the end of the shift.
• Completes the payroll timesheet with hours worked.
• Periodically reviews crane and other model cranes' service and operation manuals.
• Cleans, inspects, and reorganizes equipment in the shop and yard.
• Cleans the shop, washes racks, and breaks room.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of heavy haul experience.
• A current state-issued CDL Class A Driver’s License.
• 1-3 years of rigging and commercial driving experience.
