CDL Delivery Driver Class A

About the role

Best Buy Metals offers its drivers a unique and challenging delivery environment, where drivers can enjoy a nice balance between driving and delivering while sharpening their skills. Work Monday through Friday hauling 25’ to 35’ long specialized metal-roofing delivery trailers with Cummins-powered Ram 4500 and 5500 medium-duty trucks. Routes include a mix of beautiful backroad driving as well as interstate.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accountability and commitment through unmatched attendance and punctuality.
• Complete Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections to ensure your equipment is safe to operate.
• When necessary, manage and maintain logs per regulations established by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
• Safely load and secure materials to be transported/delivered whether by hand or using machinery and tools.
• Provide friendly and professional communication with our customers prior to, during and after delivery.
• Deliver materials with accuracy and efficiency, making sure the job is done right the first time.
• Keep your truck clean and presentable to create the WOW! Factor when delivering products.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old with a valid Commercial Class A (CDL) driver’s license.
• Be willing to obtain a Medical Certificate if not already in possession of a current one.
• Hold a clean MVR.
• Be registered with the FMCSA.
• Be able to bend, squat, twist, push-pull, and lift materials exceeding 50 lbs in weight.
• Be confident and comfortable working by yourself once out on the road.
• Be experienced with maneuvering trailers more than 25 feet in remote areas and tight quarters.
• Demonstrate situational awareness and keen decision-making skills while operating commercial equipment at customer residences and businesses.
• Interact with customers in a fun, fast, and professional manner to create a positive experience and lasting impression.
• Possess the core values of Heart, Hunger, and Humility.

Pay

Weekly pay of $22.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

• Local day routes, no overnight trips.
• Monday through Friday.
• Steady, consistent hours.

Benefits

• PTO: 32 hours after 90 days, then another 40 hours after one year of service (eligible first of the month after 60 days of service).
