About the role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while serving as the face of our company—building lasting relationships with customers. The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. Drivers deliver and unload food and food-related products to customers safely and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues, hazards, or required repairs immediately.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect payments (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bringing them to driver check-in and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and maintain clean trailers.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
  • Attain or hold a valid current DOT Health Card or secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Pay

$95,000+ per year.

Schedule

Sunday through Thursday nights.
