CDL Class A Truck Driver

Base pay starts at $28.00 per hour with an $8,000 bonus. Day shift.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver, and/or unload metal roofing panels to customers in a safe and timely manner using a tractor-trailer.
• Safely assist in unloading product using a Moffett at customer locations and/or return products.
• Deliver material in "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations (e.g., heavy traffic, inclement weather, tight loading dock areas).
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required documentation.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, complying with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; direct customers to appropriate contacts if unable to answer specific questions.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment; immediately report necessary repairs and/or maintenance.
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record.
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience, including winter driving (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable).
• Valid Medical Card.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with precision to prevent damage or injury.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to maintain constant alertness and operate safely.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
