About The Role

The CDL Driver III will transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste between company facilities and customer sites across a multi-state regional footprint. This role blends regional and long-haul work and requires a high level of flexibility in schedule and time on the road. Drivers operate a variety of manual and automatic equipment including dry vans, walking floor trailers, and CO₂ trailers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles safely over regional and long-distance routes in compliance with DOT regulations and company standards
  • Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials across a multi-state operating footprint based on dispatch and customer requirements
  • Reposition empty trailers to customer loading locations and transport loaded trailers back to designated processing and disposal facilities
  • Perform primarily drop-and-hook operations with occasional loading and unloading using pumps, hoses, and other specialized equipment
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and equipment
  • Maintain accurate transportation documentation including manifests, bills of lading, logs, and inspection reports
  • Ensure proper placarding of vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and internal teams regarding delivery status, issues, and schedule changes
  • Adapt to changing routes, dispatch assignments, and business demands while maintaining service commitments
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service at all times

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid CDL Class A required
  • Tanker endorsement required and Hazmat endorsement required
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience, ideally with tanker or specialized equipment
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions

Schedule

  • Regional and OTR hybrid model covering Texas, Louisiana, Nevada, and Utah
  • Typical operating window is Monday through Saturday depending on load demand
  • Start times vary and are dispatch driven
  • Drivers are generally out for about a week at a time but this is not consistent
  • Home time is not guaranteed weekly and depends on business needs
  • Drivers must be comfortable being out for extended periods ranging from multiple weeks up to a month at a time
  • Schedule is not fixed or predictable and requires full flexibility

Equipment and Work Environment

  • Sleeper cabs
  • Combination of manual and automatic transmissions
  • Regional and OTR routes supporting operations throughout Ohio, Texas, Louisiana, and surrounding markets
  • Drivers commonly reposition empty equipment from Ohio to load sites in Texas or Louisiana before returning to Ohio
  • Start times vary and are dispatch driven
  • Drivers should be comfortable being on the road for 3+ weeks at a time, with extended trips possible based on business needs
  • Home time is not guaranteed on a weekly basis and will vary depending on operational requirements
  • Schedule is highly flexible and workload driven, requiring adaptability to changing customer and transportation needs
  • Work performed in varying weather and environmental conditions

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions

Pay

The pay range for the primary location of this position is $64,059.00 - $88,215.00. Overtime is expected with typical 60 to 70 hour work weeks. A $60 per day per diem is provided while on the road.
