CDL-A Yard Switcher - $25hr

Location: Livonia, MI • Local route • Temp-to-hire assignment • Automatic transmission

About the Position

We are seeking a dependable CDL-A Yard Switcher to support operations in Livonia, Michigan. The driver will be responsible for safely switching trailers in the yard, moving equipment as directed, and supporting daily yard operations.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $25 per hour

• Approximately 25 hours per week
• Monday through Thursday: 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Occasional weekends when needed

Responsibilities

• Safely move and switch trailers within the yard.
• Position trailers at dock doors and staging areas as needed.
• Perform yard checks and maintain awareness of trailer locations.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and operations teams.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a professional and dependable work ethic.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years).
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• Valid CDL Class A license required.
• Yard switching or tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Must be safety-focused, reliable, and able to work independently.
