CDL-A Dedicated Flatbed Driver

About the role

Dedicated stainless-steel flatbed freight originating near Calvert, Alabama, hauling smaller stainless-steel coils and flat sheets with planned backhauls of lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities. Drivers receive an assigned newer-model Kenworth T680 tractor with a 2025 Extreme 48‑foot flatbed trailer equipped with 12 winches, straps, and two six‑foot drop tarps.

Responsibilities

• Hauling outbound loads of smaller stainless‑steel coils and flat stainless‑steel sheets (primarily live loaded and live unloaded).
• Tarping approximately 75% of outbound loads using lighter six‑foot drop tarps.
• Handling planned backhaul loads such as lumber, insulation, and other flatbed commodities to reduce empty miles.
• Performing load securement with 12 winches and straps on the assigned trailer.
• Maintaining the same trailer throughout the trip.

Requirements

• Valid CDL‑A license.
• Minimum one year OTR experience within the last five years.
• Minimum six months flatbed experience.
• Steel‑hauling experience required.
• Current coil‑hauling certification required.
• Tarping and load‑securement experience required.
• Acceptable driving record.

Benefits

• $5,000 sign‑on bonus available to qualified drivers.
• Paid orientation: Monday–Thursday at $100 per day, with hotel accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements provided.

Pay

Weekly pay is $2,000 to $2,100.

Schedule

Home every weekend with a 34‑hour reset.
