About the role

The opportunity focuses on implementation, evaluation, and organizational learning activities related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Rural Public Health Strategic Plan. Participants will engage in training activities exploring rural public health transformation approaches, strategic planning processes, and evaluation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in training activities that explore rural public health transformation approaches, strategic planning processes, and evaluation methods.
  • Participate in Action Plan implementation activities through the Action Plan Development Team (APDT).
  • Evaluate rural public health initiatives and communication products.
  • Develop educational resources and tools for public health partners.
  • Gain exposure to collaborative learning approaches through engagement with CDC programs, federal agencies, state public health organizations, and rural public health evaluation communities of practice.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree received within the last 5 years.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Strong project management and performance monitoring skills.
  • Experience with program evaluation and data analysis.
  • Capacity building, resource development, and knowledge sharing skills.
  • Stakeholder engagement and partnership coordination skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other scientific and professional staff.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Communications and Graphics Design.
  • Preferred skills in Health Communications, Life Health and Medical Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Pay

Stipend rates may vary based on numerous factors, including opportunity, location, education, and experience. The exact stipend rate will be provided if you are interviewed and selected.

Schedule

The appointment will initially be for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of CDC and is contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will be expected to work full-time.
