About the role

Perform a variety of duties in the Rehabilitation Therapy Unit, delivering rehabilitation treatments that make a meaningful difference in animal mobility and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Administer rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments, and acupuncture.
  • Assess patients on discharge.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progress.
  • Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and charges.
  • Assist in planning, performing, and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needs.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Rehabilitation Department.
  • Order and stock supplies as necessary.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit).
  • Ability to handle and restrain all species of animals.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint.
  • Must be able to work successfully as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Follow detailed directions and established protocols.
  • Electronic medical record experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner), CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician), or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant) preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $32 USD - $42 USD
