About the role

The Department of Psychiatry in the College of Community Health Sciences at the University of Alabama (UA) is seeking an assistant or associate professor faculty position for a fulltime, non-tenure earning, clinical track BC/BE Psychiatrist.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical students and residents in clinical training
• Engage in scholarly activity
• Provide direct patient care
• Contribute to administrative tasks typical for a faculty appointment
• Maintain leadership roles in the Family Medicine Residency Program, Psychiatry Residency Program, and medical education programs

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. and Board eligible/Board Certified in Psychiatric Medicine required
• Alabama medical licensure required and must be completed within the state prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications

• A track record of scholarship, focusing on learning and teaching in a health professions or medical school environment
• Collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit
• Desire to work in multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
