Catholic 3rd Grade Teacher
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year in Charlotte, NC. This role involves approximately 14 hours of teaching per week in a classical and Catholic classroom setting.
About the Role
Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom environment on Mondays and Thursdays. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Tutors must prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment. Training videos must be completed before starting.
Applicants must sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, live the Catholic faith daily, and have received all sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff undergo a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
Schedule
- Days: Mondays and Thursdays
- Hours: 8:50 AM – 4:00 PM
- Vacation and Holy Days: See RCA policy. No additional vacation days are provided; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and a commitment to living it daily
- Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
- Experience with homeschooling, teaching Religious Education, catechism classes, or classical/private school teaching is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
- Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent
- Completion of background check and RCA Safe Child training
Curriculum and Support
Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors receive training to deliver instruction and manage classrooms according to RCA standards.
