Responsibilities
- Maintains a sterile environment and prepares the cath lab, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Ensures accurate patient documentation and maintains strict sterile techniques during procedures.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor for junior technicians and technologists.
- Collaborates with the procedure team and Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator for efficient patient care and departmental operations.
- Supports the physician team by moving/panning the table appropriately during fluoroscopy and X-Ray acquisitions.
- Adheres to aseptic technique and stops the line if a breach in sterile technique is detected.
- Trains and completes competencies to operate cath lab equipment, including IVUS, ICE, contrast injector, hemodynamic system, and other specialized devices.
- Supports the department by engaging in patient transport as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Experience in Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab for at least 2 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire at Pediatric facilities.
- One of the following certifications required: RCIS, RCES, RCS, RCR, CI, CV, VI, AB, OB/GYN, AE, RDCS, RVT.
