Cath Lab Technologist II

About the Role

As our Cath Lab Tech, you will help deliver excellent patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting.

Every day you’ll independently operate all ancillary equipment in the lab including but not limited to: IVUS, pressure wire, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser, and angiojet. You will demonstrate competencies in scrubbing techniques of all diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilize good radiation safety practices, and make a positive impact on internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures.
• Operate physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms.
• Operate manifold, power injector, and other support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, and transport monitors).
• Develop cines when necessary according to policy.
• Recognize basic equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot equipment in the room; report malfunctions to Biomed promptly if unable to resolve.
• Exhibit a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases and interpret data gathered during procedures to recognize potential implications in patient care or complications.
• Understand the importance of diagnostic imaging, including knowledge of general imaging workflow, patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

Requirements

• Associate of Science (upon hire).
• Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (upon hire).
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (upon hire) or Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT) (upon hire).
• Basic Life Support – CPR (within 14 days).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 6 months).

Pay

$37.40 - $55.63 per hour.
