Catering Supervisor - Montreat College
About the role
The Catering & Community Events Supervisor leads catering operations and campus engagement initiatives for Montreat College Dining Services. This role coordinates catering events from planning through execution, partners with culinary leadership on menu delivery, and develops programs that enhance student engagement and community connections through dining services.
Responsibilities
- Cooking and overseeing all campus catering events, including order management, staffing, setup, service, and breakdown.
- Partnering with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure successful event execution and customer satisfaction.
- Leading, training, and supervising catering team members to deliver exceptional hospitality and service.
- Ensuring proper event setup, presentation standards, and adherence to food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Planning and executing dining hall promotions, themed events, and student engagement activities.
- Collaborating with student organizations, campus departments, admissions, athletics, and residence life to support campus programming.
- Developing and maintaining partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and other campus stakeholders.
- Supporting marketing initiatives that promote dining programs, events, and special offerings.
- Tracking event performance, customer feedback, and participation to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintaining inventories, event supplies, and operational records.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in catering, hospitality, food service, event management, or a related field.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Canva.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and participate in event setup and breakdown.
Qualifications
- Experience in higher education dining or campus event programs.
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with marketing, promotions, and community engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
