About the role
The Catering Server (contractor) will host catering events for business clients throughout New York City, including Manhattan. The role requires coordinating with the HUNGRY team, transporting equipment and food, and delivering a high‑level, customer‑oriented service experience.
Responsibilities
- Pick up equipment at the hub in Long Island City, collect food from vendors, transport to client sites, and complete designated set‑up.
- Host catering events for business clients throughout NYC, including Manhattan.
- Strategically coordinate with other members of the HUNGRY team.
- Operate efficiently with a customer‑oriented mindset.
- Professionally answer food‑related questions and guide guests.
- Communicate effectively to ensure all elements of the event are executed.
- Maintain high attention to detail and an outgoing personality.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during events.
- Choose when and how much you work.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle) and valid driver’s license with insurance.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
- Engaging, energetic, and customer‑oriented attitude.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Food service, catering, or event experience is a plus.
Pay
USD 22‑24 per hour (gig‑dependent) plus 100 % of client tips.
Schedule
- Monday‑Friday, Breakfast and Lunch events (8 am‑2 pm).
- Flexibility to choose when and how much you work.
Benefits
- Compensation equivalent to approximately $22‑24 /hr plus 100 % of client tips.
