Catering Manager

Job Summary

As a Catering Manager, you will manage the Catering Department, oversee event set-ups, direct temporary personnel, and ensure proper service to clients during events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise all catering events, both on-site and at off-site venues like NWHC.
• Facilitate indoor and outdoor community and corporate fairs with multiple vendors.
• Obtain liquor licenses to support bar service.
• Manage catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility-related activities.
• Supervise one Catering Captain/Lead and one Catering Services Attendant.
• Secure and coordinate temporary agency employees based on event needs.
• Train catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Work with the Chef to create menus.
• Track and monitor labor and food costs for each event.
• Communicate with various stakeholders, including management, clients, customers, and associates; maintain excellent client relationships.
• Assist in all foodservice-related activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience and menu creativity are required. Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
• Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
• ServSafe Certification.
