About the role
The Catering Chef plays a crucial role in the Food Services team at Samaritan's Purse. They are responsible for coordinating and directing staff during events to ensure efficient and profitable food service. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining personal relationship with Jesus Christ and being an effective witness.
- Supporting the Food Services Manager and supervising staff during events.
- Addressing staffing issues and providing clear communication.
- Training staff on cooking, maintenance, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintaining food quality and following Food Safe methods.
- Overseeing food preparation for special events.
- Managing food orders and ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Creating and recommending menus for special events.
- Maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
Responsibilities
As a Catering Chef, you will:
- Provide full support to the Food Services Manager.
- Supervise Food Services staff during events.
- Train and coach staff on cooking, maintenance, safety, and sanitation.
- Monitor food quality and follow Food Safe methods.
- Oversee food preparation for special events.
- Manage food orders and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Create and recommend menus for special events.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent with 5-7 years of relevant experience in food preparation.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- Serve Safe Manager Certification required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
Qualifications
