Catering Assistant

About the role
An opportunity has arisen within the Catering Department at the Freeman Hospital for two part-time Catering Assistants to join our team. You will serve food to staff, visitors, and patients and ensure the cleanliness of the department in line with food hygiene regulations and trust policies.
Schedule:
- Position 1: 16:00 to 20:00, 5 days over 7 on a 3-week roster
- Position 2: 11:15 to 15:15, Monday to Friday
Both positions are 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning of equipment within the department
- Working on the patient belt, placing food on plates to ensure patients receive their required meals
- Working in the dish wash area, stripping trolleys, and placing crockery through washers
- Completing departmental paperwork
- Performing general cleaning duties within the department
- Following food hygiene and trust policy regulations at all times
Requirements
Knowledge
- Essential: Awareness of good food hygiene practices
- Desirable: Allergen Awareness Certificate
Experience
- Desirable: Experience in NHS Catering
Qualifications
- Essential: Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification
