Catering Assistant
Coxlease School is a special school for young people with Autism, trauma-related interruptions, communication needs, and learning difficulties. We provide an appropriate curriculum in a wonderful environment in the New Forest, with small class sizes of 6-8 to ensure personalized care and education.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate Catering Assistant to support our catering team in providing healthy meals and promoting the wellbeing of our children and young people. You will assist with basic food preparation, hygiene, and parts of the catering operation under direction, ensuring compliance with our Assured Safe Catering Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
- Under direction, take responsibility for parts of the catering operation.
- Ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
- All applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening, including checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service and at least two references covering the last three years (from roles working with children or vulnerable adults).
Schedule
9:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
