We are seeking a Category Procurement Manager to manage strategic breakthrough categories and deliver year-over-year Quality Cost Logistics Development Management (QCLDM) performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for a specific category.
  • Identify performance gaps within the supply base and develop improvement plans for the identified gaps.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Network on risk mitigation and use predictive cost modeling both geographic and component-based.
  • Identify, develop, and manage a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC).
  • Effective Communications:
    • Review others' writing or presentations and provide feedback and coaching.
    • Adapt documents and presentations for the intended audience.
    • Demonstrate both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
    • Communicate well downward, upward, and outward.
    • Employ appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.
    • Maintain focus on the topic at hand.
  • Negotiating:
    • Ensure negotiators have awareness of complementary yet diverse interests.
    • Successfully complete significant negotiations, both internal and external.
    • Detail the risks of negotiation breakdown from each party's perspective.
    • Protect own position, while demonstrating willingness to achieve win-win.
    • Identify similarities and differences in position and assess impact on discussions.
    • Detect and address lack of progress or a stalemate.
  • Category Management:
    • Advise on streamlining the procurement strategy to realize the strategic benefits of category management.
    • Design and develop supplier agreements and procurement policies with standard terms and conditions.
    • Identify roadblocks in the implementation of category management and recommend innovative solutions.
    • Prepare reports to evaluate the impact of category management on the procurement process and present ROI data to management.
    • Supervise the execution of all stages of the category management process.
    • Train others on category management to ensure a streamlined procurement process.
  • Supplier Management - MFG:
    • Facilitate supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
    • Monitor supplier performance; work to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
    • Develop quality standards and controls for suppliers.
    • Build and maintain partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
    • Evaluate issues and terminate supplier relationships as appropriate; work with legal departments.
    • Ensure the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Participate in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process.
    • Train others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments.
    • Design and develop standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions.
    • Work with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation.
    • Consult on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies, and integration.
    • Develop and explain strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Procurement experience in Castings, Fabrications, and/or Non-Metallics categories.
  • Prior Procurement experience in Drivetrain components.

Additional Information

Relocation is not available. Sponsorship is not available. Domestic travel is less than 25%.

Pay

Pay Range: $147,760.00 - $221,640.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
