Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for achieving cost reductions in the total cost of goods and services, increasing vendor compliance, ensuring compliant bidders are utilized, overseeing medium to large construction projects bidding, and improving quality and vendor service levels.
- Design and implement cost savings projects across multiple sub-categories including HR, Finance, Tax, Audit, and Risk Management.
- Analyze spend data across Brookdale and recommend strategic plans to leverage pricing.
- Develops, communicates, and maintains purchasing maintenance equipment policy and procedures.
- Evaluates and selects outside contractors and vendors who can provide quality products and services at the lowest possible prices, ensuring availability when needed.
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.
- Coordinates with national vendors to determine optimal ship points based on freight costs and usage forecast.
- Tracks contract expiration and renewal.
- Negotiates and implements local, regional, and national agreements to support the savings and service goals of the procurement team.
- Identifies and leads Strategic Sourcing RFPs.
- Solves community complaints and resolves on-going issues to help drive continuous improvement for Brookdale.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably Construction Management and/or Supply Chain degree. Five to seven years related experience and training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements: ISM membership, CPM and CPIM preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Significant knowledge of an advanced discipline with a working knowledge of related fields. Exceptional problem solving, research, data analysis, and cost structure analysis skills. Strong collaborative and communication skills, demonstrates ability to influence and partner with key internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical background-proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word. Project Management and Distinctive leadership, willing to make tough decisions, but well respected by internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable with conflict, willingness to challenge conventional thinking. Proven success sourcing facilities categories for a national, multi-location organization including: managing RFPs, vendor relationships, contract compliance, etc.
