About the role
The Category Manager will join the Global Sourcing team to manage fabricated metal, formed metal, machined metal, and machined non-metal categories. The role may also support other categories as needed.
Responsibilities
- Achieve supply chain objectives by assessing and mitigating risk, supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities through supplier qualification, and identifying cost savings opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to align requirements from Legal, Finance, Operations, and Logistics departments.
- Work with Category Specialists from Business Teams to develop category strategies and ensure suppliers meet performance expectations.
- Support projects and cost savings initiatives by identifying and supporting cost-saving opportunities, providing project management support, and defining, tracking, and communicating project milestones.
- Assure supply continuity by reviewing and maintaining supplier risk assessments, leading procurement tool and process development, and providing training to internal and external parties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of supply chain experience.
- Proven project management skills and knowledge leading cross-functional teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of business needs, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable successful contract conclusion.
- Solid analytical abilities creating and adapting templates to be used across the company.
- Experienced in Lean concepts and complex value stream mapping.
- Working knowledge of PFMEA, Cost/Benefit Analysis, and Decision Modeling.
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical methods.
- Adept at articulating total cost of ownership, inventory holding costs, and cost of capital.
- Strong attention to detail, along with strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Hypertherm Associates Category Specialist or Category Manager.
- Experience managing some or all grouped categories.
- Knowledge of Purchasing modules in Oracle and/or Insight.
- Knowledge of Lean/JIT Methodology.
- ISM and/or APICS certification.
- Green/Black Belt Certification.

Pay
$93,936.00 - $156,562.00 Annual
Schedule
Five days/year paid Community Service Time.
